Operations & Development Coordinator

Inequality Media is looking for a bright generalist with a wide array of knowledge and skills to join our Berkeley-based team, working closely with IM’s five other full-time staff, and co-founder Robert Reich. This essential member of our small team will be integral to the dynamic operation of our digital media non-profit organization, supporting our essential functions, from fundraising to video production support. A Berkeley-based non-profit with a core staff of six, IM reaches millions of people each week with clear, compelling videos and broadcasts about what’s happening to our democracy, our culture, and our economy – and what people can do to put America on a path toward a fairer and more just society. Co-founded by former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, Inequality Media has produced over 250 videos – plus 260 live broadcasts – which have been viewed over 450 million times. And we now have over 4.8 million followers from every state in the nation.
About the position
The core responsibilities for the Operations & Development coordinator include:
Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Director (ED).
Serve as the organizational point of contact for outside inquiries, including replying to our “contact us” email and answering incoming phone calls.
Manage communications, including MailChimp emails for fundraising, stewardship and video releases.
Support the creation of materials and systems for new fundraising, partnership, and call-to-action initiatives.
Administer our core development efforts with individual donors, including managing annual solicitations (email and print) and tracking donations.
Work in our Little Green Light database to document and track our fundraising campaigns including entering and tracking donations.
Research potential grants, and work with the ED and other team members to write grant applications and grant reports.
Support the planning and execution of monthly video shoots, including scheduling, booking, equipment and materials.
Track and organize video scripts in advance of monthly video shoots.
Provide research support for editors, including images, videos, and charts/data.
Assist the Director of Video and Digital Engagement Associate to produce and shoot live broadcasts for Instagram and other platforms.
One to three years of experience with coordinating operations (recent college graduates with relevant summer internship and on-campus experience are welcome to apply!)
Excellent written communication skills, including copy editing skills
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of and passion for current events, progressive politics, journalism, public policy, and/or economics
Comfortability with data
Experience with fundraising and/or CRM systems a plus

Inequality Media offers salaries commensurate with education and years of experience. The salary range for this position is $40k to $50k, depending on experience.
Inequality Media offers a generous benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance, and paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Inequality Media has a discretionary time off (DTO) vacation policy. With DTO, there is no set minimum or maximum amount of vacation or sick time employees can take in a year. Instead, employees will work with their manager to request time off when they need it. All employees also receive a cell phone stipend.
