America's REAL National Emergency
Every day it feels like there’s a new emergency under the Trump regime.
But what’s the common denominator here? It’s Donald Trump!
HE is the national emergency!
Since taking office on January 20, 2025, Trump has declared eight national emergencies to justify his agenda.
[ALT: Since taking office on January 20, 2025, Trump has declared multiple national emergencies to justify his agenda.]
Trump declared foreign trade a national emergency, using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977, to raise tariffs to levels not seen since the 1930s.
Now, Americans face higher prices for cars, groceries, clothes, and other goods — and millions have seen their retirement savings plummet with the stock market.
He declared immigration a national emergency, using the wartime Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to authorize mass deportations — even though we’re not at war.
Now, innocent people with no criminal records are being shipped off to a brutal foreign prison WITH NO DUE PROCESS — in some cases because of their tattoos or their hats.
The State Department, under the guise of “national security interests,” is disappearing college students with legal residency, lawful visas, and no criminal background — simply for exercising their right to free speech.
Trump is even toying with the idea of deporting American citizens to jails in El Salvador…
Meanwhile, Trump is eliminating America’s capacity to respond to real emergencies by gutting crucial agencies that respond to our most pressing problems.
Like the National Weather Service — which warns us of severe weather.
And the Federal Emergency Management Agency — which helps us respond to natural disasters.
And the Department of Health and Human services — which responds to pandemics.
The United States has plenty of real challenges — some of which Trump promised to address.
[TRUMP: Prices will come down. You just watch, they'll come down, and they'll come down fast.]
Instead, he’s ignoring them to manufacture fake emergencies. Why? To further expand his power and to scare people so much that they’re afraid to speak up. Along the way, he’s subjecting millions to real harm.
But we cannot give in to his intimidation — because giving in to intimidation only invites more of it.
Instead, we must protect the vulnerable people who are being targeted by this regime. Speak out against Trump’s deportations. Fight to protect the right to free speech. Support the unions and other activists fighting Trump’s executive orders in court. And take to the streets in peaceful protest.
Tyranny is possible only if people submit to it. The Trump regime cannot control us through fear and intimidation if we are energized, mobilized, and organized.
This is a time for all of us to fight back against America’s real national emergency: Donald J. Trump.
